Day 6

McGee Farm

Yesterday we traveled close to Zip City to McGee Farm to pick out our pumpkin for a jack-o-lantern and to generally spend time with the family.  When Ellen told me about this farm I was only expecting a pumpkin patch and not much else, but to be free it was very fun.  There was a kitchen where I got a fried apple pie then Ellen and my mom got carrot cake, all very good.  There was also a corn maze, hay ride, goats to pet, chickens to feed, and pumpkin painting. This is definitely a great place to take the family. Everything is really reasonably priced. We got two pumpkins that weighed 32lbs for about $11. This is going to be our family tradition to travel here every year to pick out our pumpkin. Lucy seemed to have a fun time, but got tuckered out before we took the second picture. Days like this really show you how important family is. I can't wait to carve our pumpkins together. I'll definitely post pictures of the jack-o-lanterns the night of carving them. Keep your eye out for them.
